If you have not been to Third Thursday on Water Street its well worth the drive. Henderson has a fledgling little art scene with little galleries, good eats and some good sounds.

I just visited one of the Las Vegas' top artists Jerry Misko while he is camped out at P3 Gallery inside the uber-cool Cosmopolitan Hotel and Casino. He is currently the artist in residence at the hotel. His art oozes Vegas and is a must see for anyone; tourist and local alike. Not to mention Jerry is just one damn cool guy!

Last week Downtown celebrated the up and coming cultural attractions like the MOB Museum, the Neon Museum, the Discovery Children's Museum, The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, the new City Hall and of course Zappos, but we forgot one of the most important museums in the community, the new Nevada State Museum. With First Friday under new ownership and the 9th Anniversary upon us the question is will First Friday really be any different? Will the masses come back? Hanging and preparing the artwork in the gallery, sending out invitations, making sure the hors d'oeuvres are done, the wine is served, and most importantly that the artist shows up for his or her guests. Its all part of the game we play in the arts to make sure those artists shine while on stage.

Boy is First Friday shaping up as the place to be TONIGHT! The week before First Friday always has me stacked and stoked because I can't even keep up with all the awesome and crazy festivities that take place in Fabulous Downtown Las Vegas.
